Description:
LA-PEG-MA is one of reactive lipoic acid PEG derivatives that have a lipoic acid on one terminus of PEG chain and a maleimide group on the other PEG end. Lipoic acid, also known as thioctic acid, is an important molecule participating in various biological processes. It is also a good metal chelator. Maleimide reacts with sulfhydryl (thiol) groups at neutrapH with high specificity and efficiency. Reaction between maleimide and thiol allows the attachment of lipoic acid to other molecules and materials quickly and efficiently.
Handling and Use:
